Having trouble deciding.. Let us help! Call 1 (970) 532-9877
If you are interested in one of our horses we urge you to pick up the phone and CALL US! It’s the best way to get the most accurate information and help us find you your special “Avalon” Appaloosa!
ALL of our appaloosas listed here have, or will have REGULAR ApHC registration papers, which will be transferred to the buyer. Each horse has different Appaloosa characteristics, such as a coat pattern, spots, roaning, sclera, mottled skin and/or striped hooves, even though some appaloosa characteristics are hard to see in a simple photo.
We welcome and encourage full PPE’s (pre-purchase exams) on our horses that are 2 years and older. We are happy to share all veterinary records, including immunizations, treatments, injuries or illness.
Our recommendation for a PPE is the Colorado State University mobile veterinary team as they are very well trained, can be easily scheduled and are not our ranch vet.
We welcome any of the following PPE’s on our foals, weanlings, and yearlings:
Blood work-up, basic Vet/Health exam: eyes, lungs, heart, mouth, condition, soundness, conformation, feet, and temperament. The foal/horse can be watched moving while with their dam, free movement in a pen or pasture, or with one of our handlers. If anything is questionable or abnormal you are welcome to have the vet perform x-rays.
We DO NOT allow flexions to be performed on our foals, weanlings, or yearlings. Flexions are designed to place minor pressure and strain on the legs in order to highlight potential issues. These are young growing horses and it is too easy to permanently damage joints and supporting tissue during such a developmental age.
